I comment Joker for this, but it reminds me of the three things I know about women.
1) If she is happy, I am happy.
2) If she aint happy, aint no one happy.
and.....
3) If she aint happy for a really long time, I aint happy with half my sh*t!
But seriously, I make time for my family and give up riding time quite oftern because as much as I love motorcycles, riding and the biker brotherhood, I love my wife, kids, and family more than anything in the world.
O.K., I'm done being mushy now.
You forgot #4 - What's hers is hers, and what's mine is hers! LOL! I have a funny cartoon that touches on this subject, but I've not posted it because it's kind of mean to the men. But, I think I may post it anyway, to go along with this story. Maybe I'll post it later while I'm "home for lunch." LOL again!

ReplyDeleteFamily has to be number one. There are times that it could be argued that I ride "too much," especially on those weekends where there's a ride on both Saturday and Sunday. As long as I make up for that lost time on weekdays/nites and on the weekends where there's only 1 ride or no rides at all, there's no problem. It's all about balance. I'm very lucky my wife is cool about it.
How about... what's mine is mine and we live together with it all... love that.

The struggle between riding and family is a very real one, especially if there are small children involved. But it sounds like you are doing a good job keeping the priorities in there proper places.

All very good points. But for RC and me, it's just the two of us so riding together IS family time! :-D Our biggest itch is who has more mileage on their bike... Jay just got his bike last August and he's already got 9000 miles on her, I've had mine for 3 years and just hit 5000. I will never catch up! :-(

I know you and Jay ride together. That is great. I envy that, but my wife doesn't ride so I choose the bar hopper, cause long touring rarely happens in my life. I do go for some long rides though, and have to grunt through the uncomfortable times, or take more frequent rests.
