I live at 1 Frozen place in, Minnesota, United States
My real name is Mark. For many years now my wife has called me Mr. Motorcycle. When I started my Blog I was looking for a catchy blog name, so I went with it. I'm happily married and I'm also a father of 6 children. I have two human offspring, one dog, two cats and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. When I'm not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and of course BLOG. If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is phonetically spelled for avoiding spammers. (I actually do use the number 1 in the beginning.) 1mrmotorcycleATgmailDOTcom

The photo above is my ride :
"Kenny" started life as a stock '97, 883 Sportster. It's been a work in progress since the day I bought it many years ago. Its mostly custom with a built, "slightly juiced up" 1200 motor.
The Metal Fabrication, bodywork and custom paint was done by me.

How the Hell did I come up with a name like Kenny for my bike you ask?...... Most people who name their rides, go with chick names. I of course had to be different. I think bikes look tough, cool and masculine; not feminine. Plus, my father "Ken" has helped make me who I am today. Therefore with a little twist on the name, my bike was named "Kenny".

Minnesota State Fair

10 days and counting!!!!!

The Minnesota State Fair is one of the Nations largest and most attended State Fairs around. It runs this year August 21st through Labor Day September 1st.

Each Year it averages Aprox. 1.5 to 2 million atttendees. It is some of the best people watching on the planet as ALL walks of life visit this fair each year. This year, 2008 should be no different.

It is is held on a 320 acre permanent fairground located roughly halfway between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis, MN. It is marketed as "The Great Minnesota Get Together". It is indeed one of the largest state fairs in the United States. It is one of the most popular such events in the country. It boasts six stages of live entertainment, more than 700 free live performances, 1,300 commercial exhibits, and 300 food booths.

One of the best things about the fair is obviously the food. My family goes to the fair about 2 out of every 3 ears. We each have our own list of "must have" food items. Many of which are Minni donoughts, Sweet Martha's Chocolate chip cookies, Pronto Pups, Dino's Gyros, Corn roast sweet corn on the cob, etc. etc. etc. The list goes on.

I find it very interesting that just about everything comes on a stick of some sorts now days. At the Minnesota State Fair this year there will be approximately 59 differents foods on a stick. see youtube vid.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-5Lr2IhB_o

One of the many foods on a stick is the porkchop on a stick. a PORKCHOP ON A STICK IS REAL!

I've done my own sick and twisted homage to this.

***(CAUTION. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!)****

MMMMMM, Tasty!

Lady R.,

I'll have to post some pictures. Excluding the almost nudity at Sturgis, and lacking of motorcycles, the scenery can be quite interesting at tit, I mean times. Now see where my mind is wandering off too!

Have fun at the state fair. I found the best pizza at the fair - to my taste - was from the Pizza Wagon.

Be sure to have a glass or two of Grain Belt Premium.

LOL! I think watching people at the fair is about as interesting as watching them at a rally! There's all kinds. I'm sure you'll get some interesting pics to share!

Our state fair just ended a couple of days ago. It sounds very similar to yours. The people watching is the best and EVERYTHING comes on a stick.

I have to say, that pork chop doesn't look very tasty. Let's try some corn on the cob instead.
Have fun!

Lucky,

I've never had pizza at the fair. I guess, I love pizza, but reserve my wallet, and stomach room for stuff I can usually only get at the fair, or at least usually only bother going out of my way for at the fair. As for the Grain Belt Premium. It is a local beer here, out of St. Paul, MN, and recently sold to Schells Brewery in New Ulm, MN. I love the stuff. It's a sweet beer with lots of flavor. I'll be sure to have a few and think of you.

Lady Ridesalot,
I'll do my best.

Ann,
Thanks, Thanks, and Idian Fry Bread?.... never heard of it. Not local quisine here. I'll see if it's at the fair and I've missed it all these years. If I stumble upon it, I'll be sure to try some.

Dean "D-Day",
Interesting... I'm sure that Everything on a stick is becomming a common theme amongst fair foods.
Minnesota, and Wisconsin ar so alike, It's scary. I bet they put your fair in front of ours so they are deliberately not at the same time. I'm sure alot of vendors do both fairs.

KT Did,
I'm with ya, I have to say that pork chop doesn't look very tasty to me either, but it tickled my funny bone. I LOVE the corn roast corn on the cob.

Love the Indian Fry Bread. I had loads of it when I lived in South Dakota. Out there, they make Indian Tacos: loading all the taco fixins' on top of the fry bread. Great stuff!

Is that Indian fry bread a flat bread kind of like a pita fold that's kind of warm and buttery tasting? If so, I have had it. If not, I've no idea what you guys are talking about.
