Straight from the gutter

I captured a picture of this road sign while on my travels. I've driven by it many times. It's on my way to and from the corporate office and training center that I am required to travel to sometimes several times a year for business. It's a long drive. The mind plays tricks. Then again with or without many miles under my belt, and road hypnotism setting in, my mind naturally gravitates to the weird, twisted, or demented, and yes, usually straight to the gutter.

So here's the sign.
Before you scroll down past the first picture. Think about this one.
What words pop into your head?
Then scroll down to see what I see.

  1. We think much alike. I play with words in my head all the time. Wife say's I'm sick. My dad always used lisbon when refering to those folks.

  2. It's actually easy to see how you cacn play with the words, especially during a long ride :-)

At least your town & city names don't change overnight, unlike here! Whenever we go on a long ride, I can virtually guarantee a name change along the way. I currently live in a town which doesn't know its proper name - Ellisras or Lephalale......you gotta know how confusing that can be really!

  5. That's funny! I've seen a few myself that have caused me to look again. Playing silly mind games while riding is something I think we all do.

    Thanks for the laugh!

  7. Reminds me of when I was sent to Pennsylvania for work. The GPS was guiding me in the rental car from the airport to the little town I was headed to when I noticed a few road signs.

I had to snap a picture as I figured nobody at home would believe me.

  9. Guess I never thought of it since I'm from Wisconsin. (Those of you who don't know...These are Wisconsin towns.)

I can see how a sick mind would see that though!
