123456789101112

I don't preferably like eating crow but the older I get, the easier it is. I feel that when you are a real man you are O.K. with admitting when you are wrong. I've done it publicly on my blog before, and why not here again.

My wife and I for what ever reason, for likely the last 6 months have argued about weather or not the 123456789101112 thing was from Sesame Street of Electric Co. I said Electric Co, she said Sesame Street. She was right again. I searched it out and found a YouTube video of it, and it is clearly Sesame Street.

Click on the image to watch and enjoy the nostalgia of it all.

  3. Hooray, I'm learning! And having some wicked flash backs. Where's the graham crackers and milk?

And how awesome is it to have the INTERNET to lay the smack down on the spouse? I've used it many a time on the husband.

  5. I used to watch Sesame Street everyday! My favorite was the Chef coming down the steps with pastries in arms in the amount of the featured number. His falling with all his pies or cakes or whatever, would just make me howl in laughter.

This also reminded me of School House Rock and other kid favs. Thanks for the blast from the past!

BTW... Roast crow is pretty tasty with a little humble sauce on the side. LOL!!!!

  6. Yep, I remember this one quite well.

One thing I could never figure out though...
Why did they always count to 12?
Seems like counting to 10 would've been the more logical choice.

  7. When my 36 year old daughter was a kid, yeah, I remember these things. I wonder...does she fondly remember these times? Or is it just me....

    To my wife,
Here I eat crow, and there you go and rub it in.

    Lady Ridesalot,
I saw School House Rock Conjunction Junction, What's your function video too while searching the net. That also brought me back to childhood memories.

    Dean "D-Day",

"One thing I could never figure out though... Why did they always count to 12?" (The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. Actually my best guess is the clock. Watch the vid again.

    chessie,
I think you should ask her.

    To all,
By the way, I found out why my wife could so confidently say she was right and I was wrong. She told me that Of course I watched Sesame Street as a kid, and so did she, but she also watched the 123456789101112 video over and over with our two children, and there was no electric company when the kids were born, so it had to be Sesame Street.

  9. Ok.
Who were the two people that became famous after Electric company?
    Everyone knows one.
    Morgan Freeman.
    Who was the other?

  14. I grew up with Popeye. But he boys grew up with Sesame Street. I think 12 was getting past 10. My youngest first sat down to watch a show and it was this one. I remember well because the number for the day was 12 and the word for the day was "NO!". I think it was the word that got him. That is when I noticed the show and it's learning potential

  15. Oh WOW! I remember this, only it didn't look so 70's when I watched it the first time around...

Big Daddy: Electric Company had Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno was also on there, but I think she was famous before then.

  16. Rippen, Rita Moreno most certainly was. Known for her dancing and singing.

  18. Oh yeah, 70's over-load for sure. I remember having a choice of 6 channels to watch. The what-used-to-be-called "Big 3," PBS, and two channels (38 & 56) on something they used to call "UHF." On Saturday afternoons in the 70's, Ch. 56 ran the "Creature Double-Feature," running all the cheesy old American International Pictures horror movies from the 50s, along with the Godzilla series.

It was great, even though every time you changed the channel you had to mess with the 'rabbit ears' on top of the TV. My old man used to get pissed if I dared to open the little panel on the side of the TV and adjust the VERT and HORIZ HOLD knobs. That got me a red ear a few times!

Not so great for us kid was if the President was on TV, you were screwed! Kids today have NO CLUE how lucky they are - and they still bitch that there's "nothing" on TV!!!

  19. Ahh, the memories. And to add to Joker's about the channels...I remember having to change the channel with pliers.

  20. I remember being the remote control for my parents. Then I remember after we got our very first remote control, having to get up off the floor from watching television with my parents, and having to go fetch the remote control. That's just not right.

  21. The only thing I remember about numbers is a movie called “10”. That’s what I was watching.
