My wife refers to me as Mr. Motorcycle. My real name is Mark. I'm happily married and I'm also a father to 6 children. I have two human offspring, two cats, one dog, and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. When I'm not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and of course BLOG. If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is phonetically spelled for avoiding spammers. (I actually do use the number 1 in the beginning.) 1mrmotorcycleATgmailDOTcom

The photo above is my ride :
"Kenny" started life as a stock 1997 883 Sportster. Then one day I got a hold of it. Mwua ha ha ha. It is now almost entirely custom with a Built, "slightly juiced up" 1200 motor. I give Special thanks to Stormy Custom Bike Works for the parts swapping, motor building, mechanical, and wiring.
The Metal Fabrication, bodywork and custom paint was done by me.

Here is a bit of trivial background on the name Kenny for those who might be interested:

I know traditionally, most people who name their rides, motorcycles, and cars alike name them with female names. I of course had to be difficult and different. Unlike many of you, I gave my bike a male name because I think bikes look masculine not feminine. My bike "Kenny", was named after my father Ken as a tribute to "both" of my parents, for all of the love, encouragement, support, opportunities, and the many blessings they have given me in my life. Since I wanted to go with a masculine name, Shirley my mother's name just wouldn't do.

I must give credit though, the idea to name my bike in tribute to my folks came from Beach, of The Beach Cruiser. He named his bike after his father Archie. I was so touched, I thought why not.

Tragedy hits close to home

5 motorcycles crash on I-90, tying up traffic Friday July 3rd.

What a horrible way to start the holiday weekend.
I can't help but wonder what the hell happened here. It must have been a chain reaction crash.

I hope all of you had a safe holiday weekend. I got to ride my bike to and from the family cabin this weekend and the weather for the ride was absolutely gorgeous. I was able to clear my head, and just plain enjoy the thunder of the bike below me and feel the stresses of everyday life roll away with the miles behind me.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. My thoughts and prayers go out to those riders and family's who did not.

I hope everyone comes out of this okay in the end, but you have to wonder what happened ... 5 motorcycles and no cars involved.
A nasty start to the weekend for sure.

Not good. Hope they're all ok.

We went for a ride this morning. It was 111°F and it sucked. Next Saturday will be 114°F. Can't wait til October. :)

Glad you got to ride. We rode for a while on Saturday but it was cold and rainy. Sunday Rocked! The weather was simply perfect!

How close together were they riding that 5 got involved?

Glad to hear you had a good and safe ride.

Prayers to all involved. Good to hear you had a great ride.

Happy to hear it didn't involve you. I was afraid with the title you would be doing more body work. Now, I hope that all of those who were involved are OK.

We had the Moto GP in town this weekend. I wouldn’t even want to guess at how many inexperienced riders crashed around here.

I hate hearing bad news like that. I'm sorry to the family and friends of those riders.

We just got back from Panama City yesterday. Traffic was very heavy and kept me on my toes for sure!

Glad you got a nice ride in too. Nothing better than a little road therapy to make all things right again.

Most likely they all were out to prove which one of them had the most balls. Looks like they bit off more than they could chew.

Still sad. Still a trajedy. I don't know what happened for sure but I have a pretty good idea.

Been there. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy.
