My real name is Mark. For many years now my wife has called me Mr. Motorcycle. When I started my Blog I was looking for a catchy blog name, so I went with it. I'm happily married and I'm also a father of 6 children. I have two human offspring, one dog, two cats and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. When I'm not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and of course BLOG. If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is phonetically spelled for avoiding spammers. (I actually do use the number 1 in the beginning.) 1mrmotorcycleATgmailDOTcom

The photo above is my ride :
"Kenny" started life as a stock '97, 883 Sportster. It's been a work in progress since the day I bought it many years ago. Its mostly custom with a built, "slightly juiced up" 1200 motor.
The Metal Fabrication, bodywork and custom paint was done by me.

How the Hell did I come up with a name like Kenny for my bike you ask?...... Most people who name their rides, go with chick names. I of course had to be different. I think bikes look tough, cool and masculine; not feminine. Plus, my father "Ken" has helped make me who I am today. Therefore with a little twist on the name, my bike was named "Kenny".

last week, float building, painting, fishing, and riding

This past week was a busy one for me. I took a weeks vacation just to have some me time, and burn some vacation hours before I lost them. I wanted the time off while still warm enough to ride.

I typically do this once a year. 'Bout the same time each year.
I usually end up working on some kind of project such as landscaping around the yard, painting a room inside the house, remodeling, doing a custom paint job or such. All are things which I rarely find time to do unless I do take vacation time to make them happen.

This time was really no different and left me very little time to ride my motorcycle as I had wished. Oh well, such is life.

I worked on painting a parade float for the figure skating club which my kids belong to. A few men on the figure skating clubs board and I built it the weekend prior to my vacation. With my painting skills, I allowed myself to get sucked into painting the float. (Did you know it takes up an entire week painting and custom painting graphics and lettering on O.S.B. chip board?" (neither did I). Lesson learned. Note to self...Remember this is ever asked to paint another float. I'll post pictures of the float when it is re-assembled.

While spending almost the entire week in my garage working on said float, I did manage to get out here and there for breaks. I took a few photos of the fall colors turning.

I might have gotten out Friday afternoon for about an hour and a half on my birthday to wet a line.
On the way, I was in such a hurry to finally hit the lake and fish, that I got pulled over for speeding. The very nice officer gave me a warning for my birthday! (Thanks officer!)

Saturday was a beautiful day. I hooked up with one of my best friends, and went for a ride on the "Frost Your Nuts Run". Great turn out, great weather. It did rain that day, but only upon returning homeward, two miles away from my house. Just enough to get the bike dirty before pulling it into the garage for the day.

So the lack of being there in the blog world last week is due to my being busy doing the things I do when not blogging, or working. Hope your week was good.

Sounds like an OK week to me. A little productive time for the kids, a little time for yourself and a little time to enjoy the colors. Thanks for sharing the fall pics.

Dean,
Other than the fact that the float painting took 3X longer than I had anticipated, and cut into riding time, I got no complaints!

Thanks

Can't wait to see the float...what a great Dad you are!

Oh, how I miss the fall colors. But I can go up north to see those. We just never do. Maybe we should this year.

I'll be posting soon about the run we did last weekend...what a story.

Your fall pics make me homesick for Iowa. We just don't see that much color here in Alabama yet. And, we usually have to go a little more north to even see what little we can.
Can't wait to see the "custom float" job. I'm sure your kids think it's pretty cool that Dad painted the float! Way to go, Pop!

Glad your vacation turned out pretty much like you wanted it to. Life is Good!

Happy birthday! Sounds like a fun week off! Great pics, love the fall colors. I'm taking next week off, it's a great time to get out and enjoy the mild temps before the nasty stuff comes!

I love the pics! I'm glad you didn't get a ticket on your birthday! "Frost Your Nuts Run"....LMAO!
All in all sounds like a great week!

did you catch anything? or was it one of those fishing moments where you throw an unbaited hook in the water and drink in the scenery?

Happy B-day...late, as usual. Love the pictures, especially the 5th one down.

Use it or lose it. Looks like you put it to good use. The only float I can build is of the root beer kind.

Happy birthday! Sounds like a good week. Is it really "frost your nuts" time already? Around here we spend the winter doing the "its-not-too-cold-to-ride ride", "frosty balls run", and the "frozen member ride"...to name a few. There are a few nuts that ride all year long around here, "as long as the roads are dry"! Not me, I'm snuggling up in front of the fireplace with a nice tall mug of hot chocolate and buttershot shnappes!

Ann,
Thanks for the compliment.
Can't wait to hear all about the run you did!

Lady R.,
As far as parade floats go, this is not all that impressive by any stretch of the means, but was a but load of work. I can't imagine how many hours go into the flower covered floats! Thanks for the B-day wishes. Life is good.

Tony,
Thanks for the birthday wishes, and compliments.
You better get out there soon. Warm weather is short lived for some of us!

B.B.,
Thanks for the birthday wishes,
Frost your nuts has always cracked me up. I can't believe that's what they actually call it. In the springtime, we go on the defrost your nuts run!

Allen,
A bit of both. I did manage to catch a few sunnies, and a small large mouth bass, (that's an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp).
I froze them quick, since I did not have time to eat them the same day. It's gonna make a tasty lunch treat someday soon, and remind me what a good birthday I had. I gotta remember to take my birthday off every year. It's one of the best things a person can do for themselves!

Dave,
I had to go back and see which one was the 5th one down. I agree, except there is no beer in the picture, so I kinda like the fishing one too, or was it maybe the picture at the gathering point for the frost run? Hmmm.
Root beer float. Too funny!
