I live at 1 Frozen place in, Minnesota, United States
My real name is Mark. For many years now my wife has called me Mr. Motorcycle. When I started my Blog I was looking for a catchy blog name, so I went with it. I'm happily married and I'm also a father of 6 children. I have two human offspring, one dog, two cats and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. When I'm not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and of course BLOG. If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is phonetically spelled for avoiding spammers. (I actually do use the number 1 in the beginning.) 1mrmotorcycleATgmailDOTcom

The photo above is my ride :
"Kenny" started life as a stock '97, 883 Sportster. It's been a work in progress since the day I bought it many years ago. Its mostly custom with a built, "slightly juiced up" 1200 motor.
The Metal Fabrication, bodywork and custom paint was done by me.

How the Hell did I come up with a name like Kenny for my bike you ask?...... Most people who name their rides, go with chick names. I of course had to be different. I think bikes look tough, cool and masculine; not feminine. Plus, my father "Ken" has helped make me who I am today. Therefore with a little twist on the name, my bike was named "Kenny".

Can Am and Piaggio

I was cruising through Mora, MN when a bright yellow Can Am Spyder caught my eye.
It was parked at the end of the driveway for Caswell Cycle for just that purpose.
I was immediately sucked in. I had to do the double take, back up and pull into the drive to get some photos.

Of course I could not stop here. I have always been curious about these since I first found out about them from Lucky at http://pizzacrusade.blogspot.com/ when he posted on Tuesday March 11th, 2008 his Spotted in the Wild post.
I had to stop in and inqure. I spoke to Ryan, one of the salesmen. He was friendly and courteous to deal with. I had to ask how much the yellow Can Am was going for. He said $16,299.00, and they have a silver one going for $15,900.00. These things area really sweet. Check out the suspensions, etc from the photos. I wouldn't give up my Harley for one, but wouldn't mind having one in addition to the Harley.

While I was inside talking to Ryan and taking photos, as they so graciously let me do (without knowing of my blog, or free advertisement it might bring), I spotted another Moto. of interest. a Piaggio MP3. It's got dual front wheels that tilt simultaneousley, as you steer. It's very stable, and needs no kickstand. It has 3 different models, and the photo you see below of this does also come with a normal sized shorty windshield that only extends up about as far as the tops of the handlebars if you prefer.

If you are interested in purchasing a Can-Am Spyder, or a Piaggio MP3, or any other sporting equipment/rides, stop by or give the folks at Caswell Cycle a call.
Ryan can be reached at (320) 679-1383, or you can ask for one of the owners, Les & Kaye Caswell. You can even check out their website at www.caswellcycle.com

I've seen both of those on the roads around here. I have to say...the first time you see one, you definitely do a double take. They're a nice option for someone who might want to get into motorcycling but is still a little spooked about only being on two wheels. Cool little vehicles.

Dean,
I think even if you love riding motorcycles, this would be fun to ride. Especially the Spyder. It rides like a cross between a really low go cart, and a crotch rocket. I think it would be a gas! But like I said (In addition to the Harley).

The Spyder is pretty cool. I wouldn't be caught dead on that Piaggio though. When I can't do two anymore I'll just get a H-D trike kit.

Hmmmm...I have to admit, the spyder might be cool when I am so old I can't stand up straight. I would try it just for kicks. I would have to "rat bike" it out though. It would look cool if you gave it the "mad max" look, or a F-18 paint scheme.

Joker, If I get so old that I need a trike kit, just shoot me. I'll ride two wheels till I can't ride at all.

Dave, You buy the Can Am, I'll paint Mad Max style or F-18, and we can share it 50-50 O.K.?

That Spyder is very cool! I'm not crazy about the other one...it looks a bit off.

I'm with Joker...when I can no longer ride, I'll get the trike kit. :)

That's funny, because I just posted about the MP3 myself. It really is just a scooter, but sure catches people's attention. I'll keep my 2 wheels until I can't stand up any more. Then euthanize me.

Ann,
I agree that the Spyder is very cool. I'm not crazy about the other one either.

I think trike kits are like training wheels. I couldn't do it. I think I'd buy a true three wheeler first. Than I could at least say it was meant to be that way. But I don't think I'd be happy on 3 either.

Becky,
I checked out your post you just did about the MP3 yourself. Nice pictures of it. It looks a lot different in your post that in mine, due to the lack of alien like windshield.
