I live at 1 Frozen place in, Minnesota, United States
My real name is Mark. For many years now my wife has called me Mr. Motorcycle. When I started my Blog I was looking for a catchy blog name, so I went with it. I'm happily married and I'm also a father of 6 children. I have two human offspring, one dog, two cats and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. When I'm not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and of course BLOG. If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is phonetically spelled for avoiding spammers. (I actually do use the number 1 in the beginning.) 1mrmotorcycleATgmailDOTcom

The photo above is my ride :
"Kenny" started life as a stock '97, 883 Sportster. It's been a work in progress since the day I bought it many years ago. Its mostly custom with a built, "slightly juiced up" 1200 motor.
The Metal Fabrication, bodywork and custom paint was done by me.

How the Hell did I come up with a name like Kenny for my bike you ask?...... Most people who name their rides, go with chick names. I of course had to be different. I think bikes look tough, cool and masculine; not feminine. Plus, my father "Ken" has helped make me who I am today. Therefore with a little twist on the name, my bike was named "Kenny".

Twin City Custom Cycles

.

.
Cruising about the other day, I stopped into Twin City Custom Cycles, a local custom motorcycle dealer. Way back in the day when they started out, I stopped in and talked to the owner Art Welch. When he started up this dealership, it was pretty empty. It was just him in there all by himself with a few small scale automatic motorcycles that he was selling. These were, and are still known today as Ridley Motorcycles. (about Ridley) http://www.ridleymotorcycle.com/corporate/index.htm .
.
.
The shop used to be called Twin City Ridley at that time when Art was just getting started. Since then till today, Art has grown this shop into quite a successful business. They now have a mechanic shop for full lines of repairs and accessories, and offer a wide variety of motorcycles for sale, including the Ridleys, which now also have full size stature bikes, and also offer automatic, and non-automatic bikes. (Yeah, you heard me right, fully automatic!) I know they aren't for everyone, but there is a good following of this kind of ride.
.
.

.
.
.
Twin City Custom Cycle is also a dealer for Precision Cycle Works Choppers,
.
.
.

.
.

.
and Viper Motorcycles,
.

.
and Royal Enfield Motorcycles,
.
.
.
.
.
and quite a few scooters as well.
.

.
Oh, did I mention the full line of motor-clothes and accesories to boot?
.
.
It is quite impressive to see such a wide variety of motorcycles all tricked out under one roof, along with the classics and a line of scooters as well.
.
It's great to see a local small dealer turn something like this into such a success!
Keep up the great work Art and the crew at Twin City Custom Cycles!
.
If you are interested in checking them out, you can call (651) 765-9988, or go to their website http://www.twincitycustomcycles.com/main.html .
.
They are located at the actual street address: 3280 Hwy 61, Vadnais Heights, MN 55110.
Known by most locals as: The corner of Hwy 61 and Buerkle Rd. in White Bear lake, MN.
.
All this, and I only stopped in to look for a pair of shades , and I even forgot to get them on my way out..... Damn!

That's an impressive shop! We have seen Ridleys at the bike shows out here, and they really are nice looking bikes. My husband suggested that I get one, however, shifting is not my issue...it's turning. Maybe I should get a trike? Or maybe just take the course! :)

A Trike? GEEZ...She already Stole the Balls to the wall sporty I was building......Now She's Eyeballing the Trike project out back?
If She starts Looking over my ol'Triumph hardtail...I might just have to move back to Northfield MN. Where I was born.
Ah, Maybe not...Too damn cold.

Ann,
Maybe I can get my wife to ride if I offer her a Ridley! Or Big D's project trike!

Big D.,
Don't let her have any more. It's a trap. soon you'll have nothing! LOL!

Northfield.... I have rellies who live there! it's only about 1 hour south of my place. Yes, it can get damn cold here too, but it get's hot as well & humid! I don't have to tell you though. Spring through fall we ride. Just opposite of AZ where most folks who ride go riding fall through spring. Either way Too hot, or Too cold! Can't win!

I guess I can understand how you got side tracked. Beautiful bikes! My favorite one was in the first pic, the blue with purple flames. I could see me riding that. I think my second fav was the red one, but I'm not sure I would have like the exhaust set up like that. I imagine after you heated up pretty good, you could ride through a parking lot and start peeling paint off some cars, heh? I know you wouldn't want to stand next to it. Great pics!

Lady R.,

Thanks.
But that blue with purple flamed one is a bit deceiving without anything in reference to size by it. It is one of the small bikes.

And, Yes, I can get easliy distra....... Hey look, there's some really nice motorcycles to go and check out!

Yes, quite an impressive shop. Although I'd never want an auto trans on my bike, at least they made a cool looking bike for it. I'd say that guy built himself up quite the impressive business.

You will not be getting your wife on any kind of motorcycle, she prefers doors & seat belts. Your wife would however very gladly take a sporty vintage corvette convertible.

Joker,
Impressive yes, Auto Trans. That's a no for me too. But could be good for timid, or beginners.

The wife,

All I heard was: "Your wife would however very gladly take a sporty".

"~The Wife"

Well, you can't have mine. But I'll gladly take you for a ride.

We can get one of those cushy Street Glides though if you want to ride two up!
